In 2008 we once again helped sell the poppies, attended
the Remembrance Sunday parade and then counted the money.
Poppy selling
On Tuesday 4 November we spent our pack meeting selling poppies outside
Budgens and Tesco. The collection tins were nice and heavy by the end of the
evening. Those at Budgens collected £37.17 while those at Tesco collected an
amazing £76.63. That makes a very respectable total of £113.80
On 9 November 2008 we took our place in the Remembrance
Sunday parade.

Well done to Lee for carrying the flag so expertly despite
the strong wind and to Joseph and Tom, his escorts. Well done
also to Sean for laying the wreath.
For more pictures of the Cubs in the parade please see our
Remembrance
Sunday gallery. We are grateful to the British Legion for
providing the photograph on this page.
Poppy cash counting
We spent most of our pack meeting on 11 November opening the poppy
collection tins and counting the money they contained. In 2007 we counted
£766 which we thought was pretty good going. This year we beat that total
spectacularly with a total of £1766 including over £400 in notes. |
