We're on our summer holidays until Tuesday 9 September
Race night
On Saturday 13 September the group will be holding a race night at the
Village Hall. Note that this is for parents not Cubs as we will be at District
Camp that weekend. Proceeds from the event will go into group funds. Tickets
include a buffet supper and cost £5 per person. Please see the
poster for more information.
Moving on to Scouts
As you may remember, there has been some uncertainty about Scout places
recently. However, there will be changes in the group in September which should
make things easier.
Dauxwood Cub Pack has now closed. In its place a new Scout Section will be
opening, the new Scout Troop will be called Weald Troop. Linda Nicholl will
assume the role of Scout Leader and will be assisted by two new Assistant Scout
Leaders to put on a good Scout section program at their weekly meetings. Weald
Scout Troop will meet on Wednesdays 7 – 8:30pm, starting on 10 September.
Active kids
This year we have been collecting the
Sainsbury's active kids vouchers.
By 17 June thanks to a late rush we had
collected a very respectable 2575 vouchers so thank you to all that
brought some in. We now have to wait until the autumn when the equipment is sent
out.
Online shopping
By clicking through to your shopping site from
www.buy.at/parbrook we get commission
on your purchases. Our total raised this way has now reached over £150. Not bad when it is money for nothing.

raising our money.
It doesn't cost you more so please try and remember to click
through. We have
new merchants taking us to over 100 shops in our scheme. They include Ikea, Waterstones, HMV,
Amazon, CD-wow, play.com, Mothercare, Asda (not food shopping), Tesco direct
(not food shopping), Game, MFI and Marks & Spencer (not food). You can also earn
money when you
book your holiday with
sites like Haven, Butlins, Expedia, Siblu, Premier Travel Inn, Travelcare, Superbreak and Hertz.
