Our next pack meeting: Tuesday 7 July
The programme gets back on track as we are planning to have an evening in
the woods if the weather stays fine. [Programme]
Helpers: Parents of Ewan Gee [Rota]
Uniform
With
the current spell of hot weather the idea of putting on a sweatshirt may seem a
bit much. That is why we allow you to come to Cubs in just your green Cub polo
shirt with your scarf. When we do our activities you can remove your scarf but
you must wear it at the start and end of the meeting.
Jungle camp feedback
If you came to Jungle Camp last weekend don't forget to check the photos via
our past events page. We'd like to know what you thought of camp. Make a poster
with your best and worst bits and it will count towards your Outdoor Challenge.
Pack meeting on 21 July
Our last pack meeting this term will be held at Nowhurst Camp Site. In fact
we will be re-visiting the Spider Site that we used for Jungle Camp. We hope to
fit in a wide game and then end the term with a nice camp fire. Parents are
welcome to come too. We have to make a small charge of 50p per person to cover
the camp fees.
Tesco vouchers
Over the last few months we have been collecting Tesco school and club vouchers.
Our final total was an amazing 4063. The vouchers have now been sent
off to Tesco and we expect our equipment to be delivered in the Autumn. Thanks
to everybody that gave us their vouchers - our total was a lot more than I
expected.
Summer camps
We have 2 camps planned in the next few months and it is good to see the number of
bookings for them picking up after a slow start.
The next camp will be
Summer Camp for 5 days in August and this is followed by our weekend camp at Stedham in September.
For more information see the summer term note or
book online.
Parents rota
Last term we tried
out a parents rota where we allocated 2 parents to help us each week. This
replaced the previous opt in system. Since it seemed to work very well we
are doing the same again this term.
If there is a problem please try to swap with somebody further down the
list. If you are unsure what is expected of you please see our
guidance for parent helpers.
Baloo is the leader that is in charge of the rota so if you have any
questions or concerns please ask her.
Proposed 100 Club
The group is exploring the idea of setting up a 100 Club. This works by
having 100 members who each pay £1 a month to take part. Each month (except
July and August) there is a draw for a £20 prize (and twice a year this will
be increased to £50). You will need to pay your subscription for the year
(£10) in advance. If you are interested in joining the 100 Club please see
the flyer and return the slip.
Online shopping
By clicking through to your shopping site from
www.buy.at/parbrook we get commission
on your purchases. Our total raised this way has now reached over £350. Not bad when it is money for nothing.
Now you can see where we have been
raising our money.
It doesn't cost you more so please try and remember to click
through. We have
new merchants taking us to over 100 shops in our scheme. They include Ikea, Waterstones, HMV,
Amazon, CD-wow, play.com, Mothercare, Game and Marks & Spencer (not food). You can also earn
money when you
book your holiday with
sites like Haven, Butlins, Expedia, Siblu, Premier Travel Inn, Travelcare, Superbreak and Hertz.
Check out our
top offers and this week's
newsletter.

If you register your Subs payment for Gift Aid then we can
claim back the tax - so your Subs go further. It's easy money for us so if you
haven't registered for Gift Aid please complete the
Gift Aid e-note and hand it to
your leaders.
