On Saturday 12 July we will be visiting Greenwich.

Hopefully if the weather is fine we will be able to enjoy Greenwich Park as well as visiting the Royal Greenwich Observatory and National Maritime Museum. At the Royal Observatory we expect to cross the meridian and also go to a planetarium show. If time allows we may even get to walk under the Thames in the foot tunnel.

Where: We will be travelling on the train so please meet us outside the ticket office at Billingshurst Station. Those who came to HMS Belfast will be pleased to hear that there are no engineering works scheduled this time.

When: We will be catching the 0859 train so please arrive by 0845 so that we have plenty of time to get onto the platform.

Wear: Cubs will need to wear uniform top - either sweatshirt or green t-shirt and scarf. Other clothes will depend on the weather - hat if sunny, waterproof if wet. It sounds as if there may be showers on Saturday so make sure that you have a good waterproof coat. Please wear sensible shoes for walking as there will be quite a lot to do.

Bring: A daysack containing your packed lunch, drink, pocket money (limit £5) and maybe a book to read on the train if you are likely to get bored with the journey.

Pay: The cost is £10.

Return: We expect to leave Greenwich at 1616, arriving back in Billingshurst at 1813 if the train connections work out.
