Because of the wet weather our District Camp that was due to
take place this weekend has been cancelled. However, in no time
at all the District have rescheduled the activities and moved
site and are now able to offer a District Activity Day on
Saturday instead. We will still be joining with the Cub packs from across the
District but sadly not camping.
We need to know numbers urgently. Please use our online
booking form to
confirm your place
as soon as possible.
Because this event is different to camp I am not assuming that
those on the camp list will automatically come. Similarly, if
you rejected camp and now want to come for the day then just
book a place.
Once on the
guest list
please complete and return a
health form.
Where? Nowhurst Campsite near Broadbridge Heath (location
map including directions). You will need to make your own way there.
Once you turn onto Nowhurst Lane you will find that access is
via a narrow road (see site map).
Please be considerate to other users including parents that may
be leaving the site as you arrive. A one way system operates
through the camp site. Please enter by the first entrance and
then leave the car park by the exit.
When? You should arrive at 9.30am (but please don't be
earlier than that) for a 10am start. You will be ready for
collection at 4.30pm
How much does it cost? Just £1.50. Bring it with you
on the day
Who is coming? You can check the
guest list to see who is on the list and book your own place
by using our
online form.
What activities will we be doing? We are packing in
the activities. Bases include orienteering, shooting, abseiling,
archery, crafts, first aid, fire lighting and tracking. Remember
that to take part in shooting you must bring a signed
shooting authorisation form.
Note that Cubs will be mixed into teams for the activities so
you will get to meet Cubs from other groups in the District.
What do I need to bring? You must arrive at the site
wearing the top half of your uniform - either sweatshirt or
green t-shirt and scarf. We will be providing drinks throughout
the day but you will need to bring a packed lunch. Because the
site is likely to be muddy you should bring activity clothes to
change into. We can't trust the weather so also bring a
waterproof. You must
complete the health/consent
form and bring it with you. Without a signed shooting
authorisation you will not be allowed to do that activity. The
form is designed to be completed electronically in which case
you can e-mail it if you like. If you returned a form on Tuesday
then you do not have to do another one.
