This wasn t like I expected it would be I enjoyed it even if it took a reeeeeaalllllly long time to get moving The extremely slow progress in the beginning made it easy to take breaks while reading and not feel like I ve missed anything when I came back to itd that s not exactly a good thing The content of that progress, however, was very sweet It built a foundation for success not just for the relationship between Sam and Lillian, but for Lillian s confidence and self awareness.Lillian struggle [...]

Lillian and Sam are the proof positive that age is just a number and that love is the great equalizer Lillian has been feeling restless About to hit the big 5 0 she feels that up until now she hasn t really done anything Being a navy wife and mother, while rewarding, didn t lend to a lot of life experiences or amazing feats of greatness Now that her husband is gone and her kids are grown she has been trying to find things to satiate the need to feel fulfilled boards and charity work were not big [...]

Two worlds collide One is the world of Lillian, a 39 year old widow longing to find direction, a fulfilling purpose to her life At a friend s suggestion, she decides to return to college There she meets Sam, her math professor He has a complicated life too but he is immediately drawn to the mature female student, twelve years his senior Age differences plus the dynamics of their families confuse and challenge the budding relationship The second world is comprised of Senior Rojas, a man dying of [...]

This is my honest and voluntary review of an Advance Reader Copy of this book At first it felt a little odd and irritated me a bit that the story shifted between so many different characters and I couldn t figure out why I was reading about them until about 60% in when it all made sense and clicked together How all these lives would impact on one another was beautifully done with a few surprises along the way. This book is the first I have read from this author and while I liked her writing style [...]

    5. Daniell Marsh says:

Was thinking this was going to be a book about a hot professor and his student having an affair even though she is older which you don t see a lot of with a little mystery, suspense thrown in I was pleasantly surprised This story had in depth characters with characters that you root for to come out to a happy ending It does flip back and forth between the couple and the bad guys but is done in a way that is easy to follow and I thought made the story flow well I do admit there was a couple times [...]

Talk about a gripping story that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat No shortage of drama, suspense or danger as you intermix with drug lords and ancient artifacts When widower Jayne decides she wants to add a little excitement to her life, she gets than she bargained for When she enrolls in a college class to bone up her math skills she finds herself attracted to her instructor He is twelve years her junior and turns out to be the love of her life Lots of excitement and danger as sh [...]

I was given the opportunity to read an advanced copy of An Equation for Murder by Jayne Nichols for an honest review on Unfortunately, since I don t have a credit debit card attached to my account I had to leave one here The story reminds me of the setting for a good movie each person had their own setting and story to add We have Lillian Moore widower, mother, grandmother 50 yrs old , Sam ex tutor, Math Teacher, father, divorcee 38 yrs old Their family members as well as A drug lord his henchme [...]

    8. Kristen Lewendon says:

A lot of care and attention has obviously gone into crafting this book It reminds me a great deal of the movie Crash Several seemingly unrelated story lines knot themselves together during a horrific incident that leaves none of those individual lives untouched I loved watching Sam and Lillian together She s so strong but she doesn t see it And Sam s my favorite kind of alpha he has the position and authority but he s very quiet with it He s not obnoxious or overbearing in his power In fact, he [...]

    9. Chrissy Busick says:

I found myself quickly interested in the story of Sam and Lilly The older woman, who gives so much of herself to everyone else and finally decides to do something for herself The slightly younger man, a professor, who usually tries to avoid all of the women in his classes It s a forbidden romance, that is just so right.I was frustrated when the story would shift from their lives to these other characters that I couldn t figure out why I was reading about them Then when the two stories merged eve [...]

    10. Susan Foulkes says:

Wow A kickass heroine of a certain age , as the French would say, is such a refreshing change On its own that isn t enough for 5 , but the story is so well written, the spinning of several story threads so well done, plus the combining of romance and mystery, made this a one sitting read for me.Lillian and Sam are believable and likable as the main characters, the secondary characters are also well described, and the plot moves along steadily.I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book via Hidden [...]
